My name is Michael Anthony Tribone and I design and build web sites and create illustrations. I’ve been working in new media for 13 years and work full-time as a multimedia specialist for Penn State. I also freelance as a web designer/developer and create poignant, focused web sites for organizations, small businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, and non-profit organizations. The thing that gets me going the most is creating useful and unique things for people to connect, investigate, and share.
When it comes to building anything for the web, you have to remember that it’s so much more than just your web site. Building a web site includes considering who and how it will be updated, maintenance, writing, visual design, your objectives for the site, your audience, how many different ways it will be accessed, marketing, and search engine optimization – among other things. And that’s what I do when I work with you to build your web site. I work with you during a discovery period to identify all of the objectives and find solutions to them. It’s so much more than the number of pages and a mock-up of a design. Building, creating, and delivering for the web is goal driven.
I have a background in art and not only has that experience given me an eye for color, composition, and layout, but I have a long history of peer-driven critique. By having a long history of peer-driven critique and working in service industries since high school, I’m able to work with a diverse set of people and solve problems. I’m able to move and think easily as a designer and a developer to demystify the peculiarities of writing XHTML and CSS, or a content management system, or a range of standards-compliant web browsers, or all of those things.
